Confraternita dei Servi di Maria
(Italian pronunciation: cohn-frah-tehr-nee-tah   day-ee  sehr-vee   dee  mah-ree-ah)

Portico della Confraternita dei Servi di Maria by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder (1518)

Antonio da Sangallo the Elder (c. 1453 – December 27, 1534), was a Florentine architect active during the Italian Renaissance. His father Francesco Giamberti was a woodworker, and his brother Giuliano da Sangallo and nephew Antonio da Sangallo the Younger were architects. To a great extent he worked in partnership with his brother, but he also executed a number of independent works.  An important example is the Portico della Confraternita dei Servi di Maria.
